Stuart Weitzman: SW1

Even though the spring has recently arrived and summer is on its way. this is the time of the year that I prepare and update my winter wardrobe. Winter/Fall garments tend to be a bit cheaper this time of year and there's an abundance of winter garments at thrift and certain consignment shops that people tend to get rid of.

Stuart Weitzman, SW1 collection, will be available  at select stores for Fal 2012/2013. His whole collection is a work of art especially the way the heels are constructed to mirror a mosaic pattern.

on the streets...Clinton Avenue

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

I decided to take a short, but much needed break away from my finals. Two subway transfers later I was in Brooklyn and walking down Clinton Avenue. The sneery is very beautiful here. It reminded me of my days when I used to like in San Francisco, minus the heals.

This walkway looks very tranquil, the only thing that's missing is a hammock with me in it :)

Black and White Stripes Everywhere

Okay so lately I have been obsessing over black and white stripes. It's crazy because once I start obsessing over something, then I start seeing  it everywhere. I swear it's like these stripes came out of nowhere. I can't even tell you how many people I've passed up on the street who are wearing black and white stripes. They can make the most simplest, plain and boring objects and clothes become chic.
These are a few of pictures that I have collected through my Tumblr, Facebook, and Pinterest
From L-R: The interior of this room is wonderful. A lot of the times when rooms are painted with this type of bubblegum pink color it can look too kidish for an adult. The black and white zebra striped rug paired with the striped vase somehow matures this room. By the way, that giraffe in the corner is sooo cute.
The photography and graphics on this photo is amazing, I'm dying to know how they accomplished this. Although the woman in this photo isn't technically "nude" I think it's wonderful how artistic the bare body can be.
This picture reminds me of the victorian era meet the modern day times. It has a whimsical element and mysterious beauty about it. Maybe it's the way the woman is standing and gazing into the audience. There is also a nice contrast between the stripes underneath the umbrella and the stripes of her dress.
I don't know who this dress is made by, but all I know is that I want it. I usually stray away from most striped garments, depending on the make, but the way the stripes are arranged it can be flattering on most body types. The vertical stripes that are placed in the middle will make you appear tall and lean and on the opposites sides the diagonal stripes slims down your hips.
I don't know if this is a real versace bustier top, but it looks damn good :)! I would love to wear this somewhere with a pair of black high waist pants paired with a pair of  sexy red stilettos. Her necklace is amazing as well.
Okay, now I have to keep this picture of this bathroom design until I have  my dream house built. I want my bathroom to look exactly like this. I can totally see myself soaking in a nice warm bubble bath with a glass of wine with the candles lit and with a mix of  Robin Thicke, Maxwell, Goapele, and some Corrine Bailey Rae playing in the background. Perfect!

Christian Louboutin PVC Pumps

Friday, May 4, 2012

I love me some Red Bottoms, theses shoes really need to be in my life right now. Words cant and don't need to describe how beautiful these bad girls are, they describe themselves. The neon pair is a fun daytime look and they're only $795. Not bad for a Louboutin pump. The black version are a must have though. They can be worn to both day and evening events.
If only I didn't have my light bill, gas bill, phone bill, wifi, rent, tuition to pay for and groceries to put on my table and  money that I have to for just in case something happens then I would really consider buying these. *Sigh* Until then, these shoes and the rest of my ridiculously expensive items that I love so much will have to stay in my imaginary closet full of things that I one day wish to have.

I had to share this lovely photo, photographed by fashion photographer Emma Summerton, that I found yesterday while browsing through my tumblr. I enjoy seeing black beauty at its finest!!! Im a real sucker for backgrounds/murals decorated in graffiti artwork which only makes this photo even more cooler and lets not forget about their  gorgeous chocolate skin. AMAZIIING!!!

Spring Time Pleats

Maison Martin Margiela Faux Leather Pleated Skirt--- Paired with Maison Martin Margiela Boots and Jill Sander Bag.  Perfect for an uptown adventure. This can be easily paired with a clean cut top and a pair of sexy heels or booties, which will bring out the pleats.  A long hanging necklace with colored jewels will also go great with this look.

Preen Flame Stretch-Crepe Dress---Paired With Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes and Helmut Lang Bag. I want this dress sooo baaad! This dress could be worn to a garden party or a picnic. Depending on your skin tone gold jewelry compliments this type yellow the best. If you are a color lover like myself, then pick jewelry with turquoise, coral, cobalt, magenta or eggplant stones or charms. If you're still feeling a little bold then paint your lips with a popping red lipstick/lipgloss, this will help bring the lemon color out of the yellow.

Tibi Pleated Silk-Crepe Maxi Skirt---Paired with Proenza Schouler Top and Reed KraKoff Bag. This outfit goes great with just about anything metallic; copper, silver, gold & etc. A pair of neutral chunky heels or wedges will give this look that downtown edge.  Also wearing the hair in a sleek bun or pony tail instead of a down style will make this outfit appear light in weight.

Christopher Kane Pleated Silk-Blend Lame Skirt--- Paired with Kaine Top, Vionnet Shoes, Reed Krakoff Bag. If you've been invited to a dinner party, an art-type of evening event, or to dinner with some light dancing, then it's a must that you pull this piece out. All eyes will be on you with your flouncing metallic silver skirt. Jewelry needs to be kept at a minimum. I personally, would wear studs, chandelier or dangle earrings. Please don't be afraid to incorporate gold/copper accessories, such as your bag/clutch or shoes, into this outfit; it'll only make this piece even more likable.

Sonia Rykiel Knitted Cotton Pleated Dress---Paired with Chloe Clutch and Alaia Shoes. For daytime dates, this dress is a must. flirty, sexy and fun is what you'll get when you wear this number. Combine this with a nice pair of stilettos which will define your calves. Also, wearing your hair in an elegant up-style will showcase the curvature and of your shoulders and exhibit the bone structure of your collar bone. Since the hair will be up chandelier, dangle, or medium sized hoops will go great be a perfect match for this dress.

Christopher Kane Pleated Stretch Wool-Crepe Skirt---Paired with Joseph Top, Camilla Skovgaard Shoes and Jimmy Choo Bag. This look is perfect for girls night at the bar or lounge. Cash wont even be an issue because the curve waterfall hem teases the eye with a flash of the upper legs will definitely get you free drinks for the night. Stilettos.Stilettos.Stilettos. Anything deviating from that wont even be up for discussion. Long necklaces and bangles will compliment this outfit well.
