Favorites from Miami Swim 2013

Friday, July 27, 2012

Here are a couple of my favorites from Miami Swim 2013. I'm a little surprised by myself because I usually go for the tiniest bikini possible like the ones from American Apparel or the bikini's that women wear in Brazilian tourism advertisements and even the those little thong/string bikini's (even though I'm not brave enough to wear a thong bikini at a regular beach, i'll just save that for Miami or when I go vacationing in South America). I love just about everything high waisted and there was plenty of that at the Miami Swim 2013 show.  A plethora of designers weren't afraid to incorporate lots and lots of color into their collections. Which was refreshing, the more color the better. There was also tons of color blocking and interesting designs from designers such as Agua Bendita and Suboo. To accommodate all of the color that was going around designers such as Mara Hoffman, Cia Maritima, Tori Praver and Gottex incorporated graphic and animal prints into their collections.
Next year I think I'm going to have to take a trip to Miami to hopefully see all this plethora of greatness in person and hopefully get to put my thong bikini's to use!!!

A wonderful article from a dear friend

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Check out my wonderful friend's article with CBS Boston.

Keesa Mckoy is attending Boston University working on her masters in Broadcasting Journalism. As of now she is enrolled in the study abroad program with Boston's London campus. She is working so hard towards her dream career.
I enjoy seeing all of my friends doing well around me and this is only more proof that I only associate myself with successful people. You're not going to catch me in a million years hanging around a bunch of Lame-O's who don't give a crap about bettering themselves and their careers.

Make-up Worth Trying...

Christian Dior Fall 2012 Haute Couture

Even though I don't wear make-up on a daily bases, I do tend to wear it for special occasions and when I'm going out. As of lately, I've been admiring the collaboration between Raff Simmons, the newly appointed creative director for Christian Dior and make-up artist Pat MacGrath. Along with his collection for 2012 that delivered a powerful punch which paraded familiar silhouettes that were assembled with  modern day touches, Simmon's was inspired by Dior's architectural vision in which was shared to  hairstylist, Guido Palau, and make-up artist,  Pat McGrath. Instead of creating a classic replica of Dior's past classic looks, they opted for striking electric colored cateyes with bold bright multi ombre toned lips of red orange and fuchsia pink. Full thick eyebrows were complimented with blunt straight parts goings down the middle of the models' slicked down hair.

Pat McGrath kept the skin complexions pale and matte by using a full coverage skin tint with only a slight contour on the cheek bones that was created with a light pink blush.

A Walk Through Williamsburg -- part 1

July 14, 2012

Saturday, I was accompanied by a good friend of mine Chaz, you might remember him from this post, to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We had no definite plan when going, but except to take cool pictures and enjoy what Williamsburg had to offer that day. I enjoy taking trips out to Williamsburg because you never  run into the same thing twice; it's always something different going on from fashion, art to music events. I constantly stay running into the most interesting people while I'm there.

I took a lot of pictures as always, so enjoy part one of my walk through Williamsburg adventure.

A collage of my most recent instagram post

L-R- Me on the plane coming from New York on my way home to Texas. I slept for most of the duration of the flight. Mardi Gras is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. It's cheap, but the food is damn good :).  I had to take a snap shot of the salmon, apricot-gold and powder blue ombre skyline while driving home to the country in Waller, Texas. I love wearing red and this shirt especially. Crumbs! My favorite cupcake shop in New York. I had the carrot cake cupcake if y'all were interested in knowing. I had this amazing hotdog and a side of tatter tots in Brooklyn at a small eatery called Criff Dogs. I accidentally bought these electric cobalt blue Betsy Johnson sandals when I was having a not so good day. I cant wait to wear them :). My beef ribs were at another one of my favorite restaurants in Houston called Papas BBQ off of  San Jacinto and I-10 (that location has the bbq) This was what I ordered when I went to Mardi Gras Restaurant in Houston, fried catfish, crawfish tails and fries mm mm good! A Hibiscus plant that my mother planted. This is just a random picture I took of myself while at the library studying. I guess I had  to take a picture study break, lol. I was so in love with my silk houndstooth printed top that I wore to work on Thursday. An old Jack Daniels bottle that I painted and turned into a flower vase. This is one of the many pictures I took while on my flight to Houston of this ombre blue and white skyline.
